Your India Hire is run by me, Aparajita Roy Gupta (AJ). This page explains what I collect through this website, why, who else handles it, and how you can see, change or delete it. If anything is unclear, email me at aj@yourindiahire.com.
What I collect
If you're a company and fill in “Tell me about your India hiring”: your name, work email, company name and website, where the company is based, its size and funding stage, the roles and number of hires you're planning, your timeline, whether you have an India entity or Employer of Record, anything you write about your hiring challenges, and how you heard about me.
If you're a candidate and join the talent network: your name, email, phone number (optional), LinkedIn profile, city, current title, years of experience, main area, skills, notice period, work preference, expected pay (optional) and your CV if you upload one.
If you upload a CV, it is read automatically by software (Cloudflare's Workers AI) to suggest answers in the form, such as your name, contact details, title, years of experience and skills. You can change everything before you submit. The reading happens when you choose the file, even if you never press Submit. Cloudflare doesn't keep the CV text it reads, and doesn't use it to train AI models. I keep the file itself only if you submit the form.
If you book a call, the booking is handled by Cal.com, which collects the details you enter there under its own privacy policy.
If you email me, I keep the email and your reply history.
I don't use advertising or tracking cookies on this website. Like any website, the hosting provider briefly processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and block abuse (for example, limiting repeated form submissions).
Why I use it
- To reply to your enquiry and talk about your hiring needs.
- To consider candidates for roles with the startups I work with, and contact them about roles that fit.
- To run searches I've been engaged for: scheduling, screening and keeping everyone updated.
- To keep simple records of who I've spoken to and where each conversation stands.
I rely on your consent, which you give with the checkbox on each form, and on the steps you ask me to take for you. I don't sell your details, and I don't use them for marketing unrelated to hiring.
Who sees it
Candidates: I never share your details with a company without asking you first. When a role fits, I tell you about it, and only with your OK do I send your profile to that company's founders or hiring managers.
Companies: I may mention to a candidate that I'm hiring for your company when they're seriously considering the role. If you ask, I'll keep your search confidential and won't name your company until then.
I use a few service providers to run this, each only for the purpose listed:
- Cloudflare: hosts this website, stores submitted CVs privately, and reads CVs to pre-fill the form (Workers AI).
- Notion: where form submissions are recorded.
- Google (Gmail): email.
- Cal.com: call booking.
Some of these providers store data outside India, including in the United States. I may also share information if the law requires it.
How long I keep it
- Company enquiries: for as long as we're in touch or working together, and up to 2 years after our last contact.
- Talent network profiles and CVs: until you ask me to remove them. I review the network every 2 years and delete profiles of people I haven't been in touch with in that time.
- Records I'm legally required to keep, such as invoices, for as long as the law requires.
How I protect it
Form submissions travel over an encrypted connection. CVs are stored privately and can only be opened through a signed link, not a public address. Only I have access to the records.
Your rights
At any time, you can ask me to:
- tell you what information I hold about you, and send you a copy;
- correct anything that's wrong or out of date;
- delete your details, or withdraw your consent to be contacted;
- stop sharing your profile with companies.
Email aj@yourindiahire.com from the address you used, and I'll respond within 30 days. If you're in India, these rights include those under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. If you're not satisfied with my response, you can also raise a complaint with the data protection authority where you live.
Children
This website is for businesses and working professionals. It isn't meant for anyone under 18.
Changes and contact
If I change how I use your information, I'll update this page and the date at the top. For any privacy question or request, contact Aparajita Roy Gupta at aj@yourindiahire.com.
